Shift Manager

AeroSports London

About the role

Aerosports Parks is seeking a hands-on and dependable Shift Manager to lead day-to-day park operations at our London location.

The Shift Manager is responsible for running an organized, safe, and productive shift while actively managing the team, maintaining a high standard of guest service, and supporting the park's sales and operational goals.

This is a floor-leadership position. The successful candidate should be comfortable coaching employees in real time, interacting with guests, solving problems quickly, and taking ownership of the overall performance of their shift.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the shift rather than simply supervising it.

The right candidate notices problems before they become bigger issues, keeps employees engaged and productive, interacts confidently with guests, follows through on assigned responsibilities, and continuously looks for ways to improve safety, service, sales, and overall park performance.

What you'll do

  • Lead daily park operations and ensure the facility is ready for guests.
  • Supervise, deploy, and actively manage team members throughout the shift.
  • Coach employees on guest interaction, productivity, safety, sales, and company procedures.
  • Ensure attractions and operating areas are properly staffed and monitored.
  • Maintain strong safety standards and ensure park rules and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs and identify operational, cleanliness, staffing, or maintenance concerns.
  • Deliver excellent guest service and professionally resolve complaints or escalations.
  • Support birthday parties, group events, and other park programs to ensure smooth execution.
  • Drive sales by ensuring staff actively communicate available packages, promotions, birthday parties, memberships, and other park offerings.
  • Identify opportunities to generate birthday, group, and corporate leads from guests visiting the park.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide immediate coaching and corrective feedback when required.
  • Manage cashiers, POS procedures, cash handling, opening/closing responsibilities, and shift reconciliations.
  • Monitor inventory and communicate replenishment or ordering requirements.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents and ensure required documentation and reporting are completed.
  • Communicate maintenance concerns promptly and follow up until operational issues are resolved.
  • Complete required shift reports and provide management with clear updates on sales, staffing, incidents, operational issues, and follow-up items.
  • Ensure employees remain productive during slower periods through cleaning, training, guest engagement, sales activities, and assigned operational tasks.

What we're looking for

  • Previous supervisory or management experience in hospitality, entertainment, recreation, retail, restaurants, or another high-volume customer-facing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and hold employees accountable.
  • Strong customer-service and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Comfortable coaching employees and addressing performance issues directly.
  • Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to identify and act on revenue opportunities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working with POS systems, cash handling, inventory, and basic sales reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other peak operating periods as required.
