Rainy Day Things to Do With Kids in London, Ontario

A rainy-day plan for London families: the Children’s Museum at 100 Kellogg Lane, free Museum London and the Central Library downtown, public swims, and active play for kids who need to burn off energy.

A rainy day in London usually ends up in one of two places: somewhere calm where kids can explore, or somewhere they can run until they are tired. This guide covers both, with the details that matter when you are deciding at breakfast. That means which places are free, which need booking and which are closed on Mondays.

We run AeroSports London on Wharncliffe Road South, and it is in the second half. The rest are public places worth knowing about however you spend the day.

Calm and curious

London Children’s Museum (toddlers to early school age)

The Children’s Museum moved in 2025 into a 36,000-square-foot space inside the former Kellogg’s factory at 100 Kellogg Lane. It is built for hands-on play and exploring.

  • Hours: Tuesday to Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Friday until 7 p.m., weekends 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Mondays, and holiday hours may differ.
  • Cost: admission is charged per person, and infants under 12 months are free.
  • Free night: TD Free Family Fun Night runs Thursdays from 5 to 8 p.m. Demand is high, so the museum runs a waitlist instead of walk-ins.

Museum London (free, all ages)

Museum London, at 421 Ridout Street North where it meets Dundas Place, is London’s art and history museum, and admission is free. It is closed Mondays, open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on other days, and open until 8 p.m. on Thursdays. With an elevator to every gallery and automatic doors, it works well with a stroller.

Central Library (all ages)

The London Public Library’s Central Library is a few blocks along Dundas Street at number 251 and has a dedicated children’s library. Check lpl.ca for branch hours and children’s programs before you go.

Pairing tip: Museum London and the Central Library are both on Dundas downtown, so a free morning can take in both.

Burn off energy

Canada Games Aquatic Centre (all ages, with supervision)

The city-run pool at 1045 Wonderland Road North has a 50-metre pool and diving boards. It also has universal change rooms, a pool lift and stair entry. The City of London schedules recreational swims there, but the times change by season, so check london.ca for the current public swim schedule before you go.

AeroSports London (toddlers to teens)

Our park at 784 Wharncliffe Road South is an indoor adventure park for active play. There is no minimum age, but toddlers should stay in the dedicated toddler area, and some attractions have height, weight or age limits. Parents who aren’t jumping can watch from the viewing areas.

Kids on the Battle Beam platforms above the foam pit at AeroSports London

  • Younger kids: freestyle jumping, the interactive floor, Ninja Tag (an interactive maze game) and the Aero Ladder balance climb.
  • Older kids and teens: Battle Beam, where you try to knock your opponent off a padded beam into the foam pit. Also the Aero Drop into a giant airbag, the Ninja Warrior course, Valo Jump, dodgeball, Aero Slam basketball and the rock walls.
  • Breaks: the arcade and the Snack Shack. Outside food is only allowed for booked birthday parties.
  • Evenings: Glow in the Dark sessions run Friday to Sunday evenings for all ages.

Before you go: every jumper needs a signed waiver, and AeroSports grip socks are required. Wear comfortable athletic clothes, and leave jewellery and loose accessories at home. On weekdays the park opens in the afternoon, so check the AeroSports London page for today’s hours and current pricing and deals.

Three ways to spend a rainy day

  • Free and downtown: Museum London and the Central Library, both on Dundas. Note that Museum London is closed Mondays.
  • A PA day: the Children’s Museum in the morning, then an afternoon of jumping once AeroSports opens.
  • A Thursday evening: try the Children’s Museum’s free family night waitlist. If you don’t get in, Museum London is open until 8 p.m. on Thursdays.

How we put this list together

"This place is absolutely fantastic! My son completely adores it, and we regularly buy memberships here. The facilities and atmosphere are wonderful. If I could ask for just one small improvement, it would be adding a bike rack / bicycle parking outside. Other than that, everything is amazing—highly recommended!"
