Kids Birthday Party Places in Scarborough: How to Choose the Right One

Indoor playgrounds, adventure parks, bowling, craft studios, community centres or your own living room: what each type of birthday venue in Scarborough is really like, which ages it suits, and the questions to ask before you pay a deposit.

Most parents searching for a kids birthday party place in Scarborough have the same short list of worries: will every guest be entertained for the whole party, will the venue handle the food and the mess, and will it work for the ages that are coming. This guide walks through the types of venue available in and around Scarborough, who each one suits, and what to ask before you book.

We run AeroSports Scarborough on Birchmount Road, so we are one of the options below and we say so. The rest of the guide applies whichever venue you choose.

The venue types, at a glance

  • Indoor playground or soft-play centre: best for ages 1 to 6. Padded climbing structures, ball pits and small slides. Older siblings get bored.
  • Trampoline or adventure park: best for ages 5 to 14. Jumping plus other attractions, so a mixed age group can split up and all find something.
  • Bowling, arcade or go-kart centre: best for ages 7 and up. Easy to run, but younger kids need help with the game and karts have height minimums.
  • Craft, pottery or cooking studio: best for ages 5 to 10 and smaller groups. Calm, structured, and every guest takes something home.
  • Community centre room or pool party: any age, lowest cost, most work for you. You bring the activity, the food and the clean-up crew.
  • At home: cheapest for a few close friends, and the most work. Weather decides whether the backyard is usable.

Indoor playgrounds and soft play (ages 1 to 6)

Soft-play centres are built for the smallest guests. Everything is padded, the structures are low, and parents can usually sit within sight. They work well for a third or fourth birthday where most of the guests are the same age.

What to ask: whether the party has a private room or a shared table, whether the play area is exclusive to your group or open to the public, and the upper age limit. Many soft-play centres cap play at a height or an age, which matters if cousins or older siblings are invited.

Trampoline and adventure parks (ages 5 to 14)

A trampoline park gives you the jumping; an adventure park adds other attractions under the same roof, which is the difference that matters once your guest list spans more than two or three years of age. A six-year-old and an eleven-year-old will not want to do the same thing for ninety minutes, and a venue with several attractions lets them split up without splitting the party.

What to ask: how long the jump time is and how long the room time is, whether the party room is private, whether grip socks are included or extra, which attractions have height minimums, and whether every guest needs a waiver signed by their own parent before they arrive. The waiver question catches more parents out than anything else on this list.

Bowling, arcades and go-karts (ages 7 and up)

These venues run themselves: a lane or a track, a timer, and a scoreboard. They suit older kids who want competition more than free play. The limits are physical. Karts have height minimums, bowling balls are heavy for small hands, and arcade credits run out faster than you expect.

What to ask: the height minimum for drivers, whether there is a smaller track or bumpers for younger guests, how many games or laps are included per child, and whether there is somewhere to eat cake that is not a hallway.

Craft, pottery and cooking studios (ages 5 to 10)

A studio party is quieter and more structured, and it suits a child who would rather make something than run. Groups are usually smaller because every guest needs a seat and a set of supplies. Pieces that need firing or baking may be collected a week later rather than taken home that day.

What to ask: the maximum group size, how long the activity actually takes compared with the booked time, and when the finished pieces come home.

Community centre rooms and pool parties (any age)

The City of Toronto rents rooms and pool time at community centres across Scarborough, and this is usually the lowest-cost way to host a large group. It is also the most work: you bring the games, the food, the decorations and the people to set up and clean up, and pool parties come with supervision rules for younger swimmers.

What to ask: what the rental includes (tables, chairs, a kitchen), the lifeguard and supervision ratios for a pool booking, and how far ahead rooms fill on weekends. Check the current rental pages on toronto.ca, because availability and rules change by season.

At home

For a handful of close friends, home still works, and it is the only option with no minimum guest count. Plan for weather if the backyard is part of the plan, and be honest about who is cleaning up afterwards.

What to compare before you book anywhere

  1. Ages and heights. Every attraction-based venue has at least one height minimum. Get them in writing and check them against your youngest and shortest guests.
  2. Total time, and how it is split. A two-hour party is often 75 minutes of activity and 45 minutes in the room. Ask for both numbers.
  3. What the price per child covers. Food, drinks, socks, invitations, a host, a return visit for the birthday child. Add-ons change the real cost quickly.
  4. Private room or shared space. Some packages reserve a table on the floor rather than a room. Both work, but you want to know which you are paying for.
  5. Food rules. Can you bring a cake? Can you bring anything else? Is there a fee? Does the venue need to know about allergies in advance?
  6. Minimum guest count. Packages are usually priced for a set number of children, and the birthday child normally counts toward it.
  7. Lead time and cancellation. How far ahead weekends fill, when the final headcount is due, and what happens if someone is sick on the day.

AeroSports Scarborough

The glow-lit entrance to the Bazooka Ball arena at AeroSports Scarborough

Our park at 1120 Birchmount Road is an indoor adventure park, so a party here is jumping plus whatever else the group picks: the go-kart track, laser tag, bazooka ball, mini golf, the Ninja Warrior course, slides, rock walls and dodgeball. Here is how it measures up against the checklist above, as of November 2026. The Scarborough birthday party page has the current package table, add-ons and terms.

Ages and heights

Parties suit roughly ages 5 to 14, and most of the park has no height minimum. The exceptions: the main go-kart track is for drivers 52 inches and taller (passengers in a dual kart from 36 inches), Mini Karting is for drivers from 36 inches, and the 360 Bike and Ninja Warrior course start at 48 inches. Closed-toe shoes are needed for karting.

Time

There are three packages. Total party time runs from two to three hours depending on the package, with jump time from 75 minutes up to two hours and the rest in the party space.

Space

The entry-level package reserves table space in the park; the two larger packages include a private party room. The attractions themselves are shared with other guests in the park, so the room is where the party is yours alone.

What is included

Every package includes a party host, one pizza for every five jumpers, a juice box for every jumper, a glow-in-the-dark T-shirt for the birthday child, digital invitations, a return pass for the birthday child and return coupons for guests. The top package adds grip socks for every jumper and a go-kart race for every jumper. Laser tag, bazooka ball, mini golf and go-kart races can be added to any package per child.

Food rules

Cake, cupcakes, cookies, fruit and veggie trays, water and juice boxes can be brought in with any package. The top package lets you bring any nut-free food and drinks; with the others, other outside food carries a fee. Tell us about allergies in advance, and leave the piñatas, confetti and silly string at home.

Booking

Book online or call the park. The final jumper count is due 48 hours before the party, add-ons ordered more than 24 hours ahead avoid a late fee, and guests should arrive 20 minutes before jump time for check-in. Every jumper needs a waiver signed by their own parent or guardian, which can be done online beforehand and stays valid for a year. Parties can be rescheduled within a year with 72 hours' notice. Current deals, including seasonal party codes, are on the Scarborough promotions page.

A simple planning timeline

  • 4 to 6 weeks out: pick the venue and a weekend date. Saturday afternoons go first.
  • 3 weeks out: send invitations with the venue's waiver link and the sock or shoe requirements.
  • 1 week out: chase RSVPs and order the cake.
  • 48 hours out: confirm the headcount and any add-ons.
  • Party day: arrive early with the cake, candles and a lighter. Everything else should already be handled.

How we put this guide together

The venue types above are the ones that come up when Scarborough parents compare party places, and the questions are the ones our own party team gets asked most. AeroSports details were checked against our current packages in November 2026; they change, so the party page is always the final word. For other venues, confirm the details with the venue before you book.
